| The birth of the National Museum of Taiwan History can be said to be the result of Taiwan’s ‘democratization and localization’ that were initiated in the 1970s. The Preparatory Office began the preparatory work in 1999, and the National Museum of Taiwan History was officially established on March 15th in 2007. The Museum is currently under construction and is not yet open to the public. |

The National Museum of Taiwan History Is the foundation that safeguards the land of Taiwan and the souls of the Taiwanese people.
We wish to build a history museum that cultivates the past, but aspires the future. A history museum that roots itself firmly on this land, but looks out to the World. Most of all, a history museum that belongs to all the people of Taiwan. |
