"Bridge of Spirits"—a rainbow
In the turbulent year of 1935, four Atayal youths—Walis, Batu, Pisuy, and Sayun—witness tensions among their elders in a new settlement and observe the urban development showcased during the Taiwan Exposition. Amid pressure from the Japanese colonial government, they are torn between the whispers of their ancestors and the teachings of textbooks, family expectations and search for identity. As they navigate between tradition and modernity, they take a brave step toward a new future for the Atayal people, upholding the spirit of the Rainbow Bridge.
